Friday, October 30, 2020 at 12:30 PM until 1:30 PMCentral Daylight Time UTC -05:00

In our previous discussions, we reviewed the methodology of political polling and what national public opinion polls are telling us about the state of the 2020 political campaign. Join us for a session discussing the state of the campaign in North Carolina, one of the key presidential battleground states this election cycle. But it’s not just the presidency that’s at stake; North Carolina also could be decisive in determining which party controls the U.S. Senate for the next two years. In this upcoming session, we will discuss the current political landscape in North Carolina, where the state seems to be headed in this election, and the pivotal role it could play in determining the direction of public policy.

Speakers:
  • Tom Jensen, Director of Public Policy Polling
  • Christopher Cooper, Professor and Chair of the Political Science and Public Affairs Department at Western Carolina University
  • Rebecca Tippett, Director of Carolina Demography
  • Marc Farinella, Senior Advisor, Center for Effective Government; Executive Director, Center for Survey Methodology
