Harris Faculty Webinar

Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM until 11:30 AMUTC -06:00

How do voters reach their political views … and how do you get them to change their minds?

We know prospective students are eager to attend events featuring our faculty, and whenever possible we notify students of upcoming events. We are excited to announce our webinar on December 14th from 11:00am-11:30am (CST) with Marc Farinella, Senior Fellow and Executive Director of the Project on Political Reform at Harris Public Policy.  He has directed several gubernatorial and Senatorial campaigns and has served as a political and public policy consultant for numerous candidates and officeholders.  In 2008, Marc served as the North Carolina State Director for President Barack Obama’s general election campaign -- the first victorious effort in North Carolina by a Democratic presidential nominee in 32 years.  Earlier, Farinella served three years as Chief of Staff for the late Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan and managed the extraordinary 2000 U.S. Senate campaign in which Carnahan defeated incumbent John Ashcroft despite Carnahan’s death in a plane crash three weeks before the election. The webinar will briefly explore some of the research regarding the roles of logic and emotion in shaping political attitudes and behavior.
